View Full Version : Is this seriously all from hemmorrhoids?

Okay, so I've been having some pretty bad problems "down there" for the last few years now. Generally my problems are bleeding/soreness around rectum and cramping.

About a year ago, I had a colonoscopy to rule out disorders further up inside me, and the doctor said he found nothing but some internal hemorrhoids.

Anyway, more recently (the last few months). Things have become extremely worse. Almost every single time I use the restroom (my bowel movements are almost always loose, which is normal for me) I sit there literally crying in agony. I cannot even move for some time due to the raw/angry tissues down there and also for the gnawing, buckle-me-over cramps I get in my lower abdomen after I have a bowel movement.

I never get any of those problems before I have a bowel movement, only after. Does this seriously still sound like only hemorrhoids? Because this is really starting just destroy me. I cannot even function for about an hour or more after using the restroom.....it's debilitating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Because you had a colonoscopy last year, I doubt this is anything like inflammatory bowel disease--that would have shown up. It sounds like IBS and a possible fissure (or two).

Much of this could be from diet--are you taking stool softeners? Are you taking a fiber supplement? I had much of the same problems a couple of years ago due to a pair of chronic fissures--it got so bad they starting causing cramping and spasms--then I started modifying my diet and taking stool softeners--that caused loose stools and nausea. I went to a colo-rectal doctor who gave me an ointment called dilitiazem (sp?) that helped, but didn't totally correct the problem. My fissure was so bad I had to have a LIS procedure (which was nothing). I then had a colonoscopy to rule out IBD--everything was fine, and I haven't had any problems since.

So yes--this could be caused by fissures and hemmroids!

Currently for my digestive problems (I have chronic diarrhea....probably mostly from not having a gallbladder anymore) I take Acidophilus and Fiber capsules daily, which do help...but not 100% I've tried to cut back on fatty and spicy foods, but I'll admit I am bad about not sticking completely to avoiding them.

My father had surgery for a fissure a few years ago. It was very successful for him too. I suppose I need to go back to the doctor and see what her advice would be for my situation.

Thanks for your comment! I found it very helpful!
