View Full Version : Healing after hemroidectomy - will the hole close?

I had a hemroidectomy less than a week ago (tuesday). My stitches came out, and now there is a big hole there from where the doctor cut out the vein. Does this hole heal up completely? It is so ugly... The doctor said it would heal eventually and that 50% of the time the stitches come out. Please...people who have had this surgery, give me some piece of mind. Will the hole heal? Thank you so much for your replies.

Hi Cleopatra,
Sorry to hear you are in pain.

I had hemmie surgery with ligasure, no stitches. The wounds do close and heal but it took my a long time, it's been 4 months for me and just in the last month are they feeling like they will heal. Not sure if I would call them a hole but definitely unhealed wounds.

The skin in the area is thinner and very sensitive and still bleeds though. It is a hard area to heal and there are many nerves there.

Keep your stools very soft but do not let it become diahrea.

Gotta go this morning, if you have any questions let me know.

Thank you...I feel a lot better knowing that they will eventually heal.

Ugghhh...the hole is still there. I feel like it will never heal...so many people here have had hemroidectomies. Is there anyone who can comment about long term healing?
