A week or so ago I started having pain in my lower left rib cage area, actually a little under my ribs. It was somewhat of an intense sharp pain with certain movements that I would make or sometimes it would even hurt if I just sat down. A week ago I was laying in bed and felt under my last left rib cage and I felt this little mass *kinda felt like a bone was sticking out* never was there before and when I would feel it I'd begin to have a little pain. I'm now freaking the hell out because it's never been there before and I am spazzing out thinking it could be a million things.

Anyone have any idea what it could be? I am too scared to go to the doctors. This just came outta nowhere.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know what it could be. I wish I knew. Try not to worry. I think it is always best to se the doctor. I hope you can get it figured out. Good luck!

I had something similar happen to me. It was just as you've described- a very painful muscle spasm, causing intense pain underneath the rib cage. You could see a big bulge during this spasm. That in itself was scary. For some time afterward, I could feel a big hard lump with my hand. It was all very scary because I thought that my stomach was somehow coming apart. I pushed the bulge with the heel of my hand into the abdomen. I have a sliding hiatal hernia, which I was certain had caused the bulge. My doctor said it could have been a muscle spasm.

Don't be afraid to see your doctor about this pain. You might need some tests. My doctor gave me the impression that my experience was quite common. :)
