Could someone please tell me if getting weekly chemo is common. Everyone I know gets it once a month, every three weeks but I can't find anyone who gets it every week. Thanks

My mother had received 15 radiation treatments to her brain and she had chemo treatments weekly for 6 months. I think she did have a week off each month. She was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung cancer in 9/06 Blueeyes

my husband had chemo every week for 8 weeks starting Dec. 2005 also 8 weeks radiation. It was really hard on him but he is still here with me. Cancer moved to Lymph node in his neck Dec. 2007 and he had another 10 days of radiation .( since then his scan has been clean) He has stage 3b lung cancer.
God bless and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your mother.

Thank you both. I have not been able to speak with his Dr. and I was afraid it was just a "last chance" effort to make us feel better. I don't even know what stage he has. Thanks again.

the cycles and types of chemo are different for each type of cancer, too include its based on the persons body and makeup. there are many, many different cycles and med mixes for each. we have the same type of cancer, and same stage, but our cycels and meds are different. Unique to each person. Ask the doctor....of you don't ask you will be missing out.
