My son, 20mths old, has been constantly sick for what seems the last six months. Everything from colds and flus, croup (multiple times), gastrointeritis, conjunctivitis everything. He has been prescribed so many different antibiotics that don't often do anything but give him loose bowl motions or thrush. We have tried cutting out dairy with no results and I have turned to looking at additives in foods to see if they could be a possibility. Is it worth trying multi vitamins or pro biotics on a child so young? Do they really work? I have been to many GPs and two natropaths with no answers to help my litlle boy.

As far as boosting his immune system -- the biggy would be to wash hands frequently, which I'm sure you're doing. I do know of people who use probiotics, such as culturelle on very small children, especially when using antibiotics. DS was put on a month of augmentin for a sinus infection when he was about that age and was miserable due to loose stools.

Has he been tested for cystic fibrosis? Is there a chance that he got RSV and is still recovering from it? Sometimes that can cause respiratory issues. Has he been tested for C Diff being that he's having bowel issues?

Is he in daycare or home full time with you?

MAke sure he is getting his vitamins and minerals. I also give my daughter the Herbs for Kids Echinacea. It is in liquid form and it boosts her immune system. My daughter is two and is NEVER,EVER sick, literally. She has never had a runny nose or cough. I also add a couple of drops of fresh lemon juice to her water and I give her probiotic yogurt everyday. The antibiotics kill both good and bad bacteria in the body. You need to the good bacteria to stay healthy, but they don't tell you this. I also use essential oils in her baths like peppermint, eucalyptus because they are naturally antiviral, antibacterial. You have to supply the body with the tools it need to fight and stay healthy. When you overload the body with toxins in the form of vaccinations, processed food, even the lotions, shampoos we use if overwhelms the body and it isn't strong enough to fight. Start eating and using organic only products. The body takes toxins in my food, air, and through the skin. Drugs are processed, chemically laden, and genetically modified from anything natural so that way they can patent it and they never cure anything, drugs only suppress and interfere. You have to turn to natural ways of healing him. Michael Savage wrote a book called Healing Children Naturally, check that out. You can also do a search on how to boost the immune system naturally to get more tips.
