Tammy,

I have horrible pain in my legs and lower forearms sometimes. When I have a flareup this is where I get the throbbing, aching pain. Have you tried Lyrica yet? I was only on it for about 1 month and 1/2, and had to go off it due to bad swelling. When I have flare ups the best thing is rest with heat, like from a heating pad or heated throw, a muscle relaxant, like flexeril or valium, and a pain medication, like advil or tylenol, a lot of us need something stronger like vicoden or I have vicoprofen (codeine with ibuprofen). I try to drink as much water as I can, rest, and take it easy.

Do you have any prescription medications for fibro? You mentioned swelling, ibuprofen would help with the inflammation, but are you on any medication that would make you swell?

I hope you feel better, and I hope we can help. Please keep posting, and know we are here for you.

Those are not Fibro symptoms...you need to seek medical attention as there is something more serious going on.

DolphinS - I agree with Ann - these are not exclusively fibro symptoms. We sometimes assume all serious pain in the limbs is always the fibro. And the swelling you report is one symptom that is almost never seen in fibro alone. Although we sometimes feel swollen! ;)
Have you been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia? Is that why you think your pain and swelling is fibro? - you didn't say you were actually diagnosed?
Wishing you peace and comfort,
Paddy

Yes, I agree with the others about the swelling. You do need to be seen and evaluated for the pain, and swelling, and probaly evaluate them separatly first. I, do have fibro, and have pain and swelling. My swelling is in my hands and feet, and that is why I could not tolerate lyrica, because with my already swelling, I turned into a balloon.

The aching in the arms and lowers legs are a fibro symptom and where a lot of us feel pain, I do when I have a flare up. Then I have the every day chronic pain in my back, jaw, migraines, tendonitis etc. Do you have any of these?

Where are here for you, and want to help guide you in the right direction. Please keep posting to us.
