I am losing my hair in the top of my head. The rest of my hair is thick and nice. It is shoulder length. The top of my scalp is very sore and tender. What's happening?

Are you by chance on any medications? If so, it could be a side effect from them. I had the exact same symptoms when I took meds for depression. Other possibilities could be thyroid problems or low iron. You should have your doctor run some blood work.
