HI all! I just had an electromyography test at the neurologist yesterday. Boy was I not at all prepared for the electric shocks the tech gave me to my arms and legs. It hurt real bad. There I was with my arms and legs jerking all over as she did this. Then the doc came in and did the needle part where she stuck needles into my arm and leg muscles. That hurt too. She was checking the currents of activity. All checked out normal. My twitching that I have had throughout my body for over a year. At this point we think my muscle twitching is from taking sudefed.(Which is known to cause muscle twitching) Since I have stopped the sudefed for a couple of weeks they have subsided.

So here is my question:confused:....have any of you had this test done? Did you feel pain at the injection sites? Or tenderness for awhile?? Also did you feel weak, tired or weird the next day?? I feel kind of wiped out. I did stay up way too late last night and I have pms too. lol but still I feel a little shaky. I did get electrocuted in small amounts but it still hurt. How did you feel? I would appreciate anyone's response. Thank you so kindly!:)

I had the same test and like you, I was not prepared for them to stick those little needles in me and give me a jolt of electricty. Yes, it hurt like heck especially in the places where the nerves were alive. The doctor did tell me that I had two dead nerves in my arm in which I didn't feel nothing in them at all. My arm was also sore afterwards. Hopefully, I will never have to have another one done because for me it hurts. I have read that some people have had the test and it didn't really hurt them that much. One things for sure they don't really prepare you for it that's for sure.
