My doctor has recently started me using Lyrica and I can tell that it is really working. It took sometime to figure out what is the best medication but after all the different prescriptions this is the only one that I can say helps my body feel better. I see how many of yall have trouble with prescriptions and my heart goes out to yall! but has anyone else had good reactions to Lyrica?

I am happy for you that the Lyrica is working for you and that your body is feeling better... I was prescribed Lyrica probably 4-5 years ago for restless leg syndrome and it did not help at all so my doc said he would not even try it for the fibro... But hey, it is working for you and you have to remember that everyone is different... Different drugs work differently on people...

I hope that you continue to have good luck with it... Jenn

How long have you been on Lyrica? Have you had any swelling or weight gain? I have not tried it yet as I am worried about the side effects.

Lynn,

All you can do is try...and if you have problems, you will know pretty much right away. I tried Lyrica starting in January, and the swelling, weight gain and muscle pain started almost immediately. My crackpot doctor didn't take me off until the beginning of May...38 pounds later. Thanks. However, it worked very well in relieving my nerve pain; it just aggravated my FM pain tremendously.

What works well for one does not for another....so try it if you can. It may be a great solution for you.

Blessings,
TexMom

I have been on Lyrica since February and it has worked wonders for me, so much in fact that I have joined a gym to counter act the weight gain. That is the only side affect I have from it.

I started about 2 months ago and its helped me a lot!! The fatigue is tons better and I haven't had the weight gain or swelling. My doctor started me on the lowest dose and worked from there. Its crazy, I have never been able to wake up in the morning at 6am and stay up all day...without pain.
I am just hoping this lasts!

Piano-Girl .... or anyone....

What dose of Lyrica are you on ? When do you take it.

I have just upped 75 to 150 taken . I take 75mg AM and 75 PM.
It is helping my neuropathic pain and also really helping me sleep.
No weight gain but time will tell.

Ireally would like to know how much of it others are taking.
Here in Canada it is 107.00 dollars a month to take 150 mg a day.

Right now I am on samples from the Dr. but they will run out
eventually.

Hugs to all. I will later tell my story and do a proper into.
I have been checking out the board for a long time.

Biya,

I took 150 mg, 2x day when I was taking Lyrica. Had to quit after side effects became too much.

Good luck!

Blessings,
TexMom

Hi Biya, I take 150 mg in the morning and 150 mg at bedtime. I have to pay a co-pay of 45.00. Hope you can take it, it really does work, at least for me.

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.
My Dr. started me out on 75mg morning and night and gradually increased me to 150 twice a day. So far so good.....
