Anyone else have a EGD and how was it?? [Archive]

I've had this done, no problem at all. The worst part was fasting prior to the procedure.

I have had 4 EGDs and it is not a big deal. The MD will sedate you by IV. You will not remember anything about it.

I only had to fast from 10 PM until 7 am, so that was not an issue with me.

Try not to worry.

I have one every 2 years to check things out. No problem. They put me completely out. My mother had one and they only numbed the throat to stop the gag reflex. She was awake the whole time. I don't think I would like that.
