My hair was already damaged, dry and thin from coloring. I colored last week, then went swimming in a chlorinated pool without leave-in conditioner. Disaster. The next day, a huge patch of hair broke off from the back of my head. My hair was already very long and thin in the back, but now its even thinner. Where the patch of hair broke off, there is a prominant upside-down V where its missing... (looks like this >) ___^___ I'd hate to cut off my hair because it took so long to get it this length. Is there anything I can do to hide the upside down V of missing hair and to heal my hair in the process? Or am I going to have to get it cut (would hate to do that.) Thanks!

I would just cut it.
