I think my DD has a case of swimmers ear.

Is there anything that I can do for her at home over the weekend? The doctors are closed.

I had a pretty severe case of that when I was younger. The only thing that seemed to help me was heat. I would put a potato in the microwave for a few minutes and then cover with a towel an hold on my ear and then repeat. Depending on how severe it is, may need to go to an urgent care or emergency room. Good luck, I still remember how bad that hurt. :(

One of the peds doctors that I work for suggested this to me for my daughters. Mix equal amounts of distilled vinegar and distilled water, and put a few drops in the ear. He said it restores some of the acidity levels in the ear. I've also used over-the-counter ear drops as a temporary measure.

Does your pediatrician not take calls over the weekend? You might be able to speak with the doctor and get a prescription called in. Don't feel you are imposing by calling outside of regular office hours. Believe me, they get a lot of calls for minor things!
