hey all... when i was in my mid 20s (im now 36) i went out to dinner and on the way back i had to have a bm VERY bad...i had to pull over cause i almost went in my pants and i ended up having diarrhea (i cant recall EVER having that urge that bad before)... since then ive had diarrhea a ton...daily in fact..to the point where its almost all i think about. when i eat sometimes i have a bm RIGHT AWAy...seriously, and its usually very loose..brown though...no blood...usually no pain ever. Immodium helps sometimes but i fear on relying on it. i DREAM about having constipation issues, its THAT bad. when i DO have a solid bm i almost ALWAYS end up having diarhhea within a couple of hours afterwards....its like the solid BM was holding the loose stuff in....i know that stress and anxiety are NOT helping my situation...
what i want to know is this...are there any med that can SLOW down peristalsis? and do you think that citrucel or some form of fiber like that may help?

hmm i would suggest seeing a physician. it could be inflammation in the colon causing this, it could be c.diff, it could be a parasite.

the best way is to rule out everything. with imodium, you only want to use that for a few days and usually with travelers diarrhea. in your case it sounds like you may have chronic diarrhea in which i would refer you away from using imodium and seeing a physician.
