why does blood pressure cuff make arm red and itch

Do you have sensitive skin? Even though the cuff is not really tight around my arm, I can often see a red mark after it's removed. I'll even find tiny bruise marks on occasion. If you're itching with it, it could be a sensitivity to the material of the cuff. As long as it's temporary and not long-lasting, I wouldn't worry about it.
