I was just curious about this "paper cut" manifestation of herpes. It has not been mentioned by any doctor that I have seen. I have read some literature on herpes and this symptom hasnt been mentioned either.
I have only read about this on the internet.
The reason I ask is because my penis head and foreskin get irritated easily now and when there is irritation it looks like the skin had folded and It could resemble a "paper cut".
There is no pus or blood mind you. Just skin that looks like it has been folded or wrinked. The head of my penis sometimes has tiny grooves too. This skin is sensitive to touch.

Hi Don Dada SuperCat http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
My primary ob was a mere paper cut like symptom. I was infected a year ago and have never had any bumps, blisters, etc that "weep" anything. I had a tiny paper cut looking thing that appeared out of no where. I went to the doctor and basically he said it looked like a had 3 tiny scratches in that area...I think i was itchy or something so that's why I went. He swabbed me and said it was herpes. He later did blood work and told me I had recently been infected.
Since that day I have only had tingling feelings...but they are gone now since I started using OLE. I had a tiny bump once but that went away after I put some OLE on it..not sure what it was really...so yeah it doesn't have to be blisters.
I think the milder the primary the less severe the recurrent ob are.

Yeah I had the same thing too. Paper cut things that were so small I had to use a magnifying glass to see. But non the less that's exactly what they were, 2 small paper cuts on the tip of my penis. I'm still not sure it's Herpes though. Hope not.

Hi
I was tested for herpes after 6 weeks and the IGG herpeselect blood test came back negative.
The doctors (STD, ER, PCP and Urologist) have shrugged of all my symtoms.
I havent been getting erections either.
Did your foeskin ever hurt?

Hi Notsobad,
Is your infection HSV 2 or 1?
I was infected with HSV 2 and have been having painful herpes lesions that weep.
I was feeling pretty down about it that I still suffer from painful obs despite being on a high dosage of acyclovir daily.
The pain is quite intense especially during bathing. Can't really contemplate marriage now ...I would not want my partner to go through this pain...
At times, I do have sucidal thoughts since I can't really accept a single life...but guess with this awful, chronic disease, I am left with no choice.

Dear Alex, please don't convince yourself that you must be single forever because of this. Love is more powerful than illness or fear of illness. Just think of people with AIDS whose loved ones stay with them.
There are many people who aren't hung up on whether you have herpes or not. You may not be meeting them now, but they are out there. If you concentrate on becoming the best person you can be, on developing your interests and talents, and on learning and doing the kinds of things you enjoy, you will end up meeting someone who values you. There is so much to life, and there are so many different kinds of people in the world! Please don't despair!

Hi Backpacker,
I really appreciate your encouragement.
Ever since I contact this virus, I have shared with a few close friends some of whom are Christians. But I never managed to share with my family as I doubt they will be able to handle the truth.
There is this Christian friend who advise me to stay single. I was really down during all this period and that just add to the despair.
I do hope to meet someone but really meeting that special one who will accept me is really difficult now.
My walk with God is closer than before but at times I still pray for a recovery...and I just hope that God will keep me sustained and fulfilled.
I too enjoyed trekking and backpacking.Been to a few mountains in Malaysia and Pakistan.
Have a wonderful impression of Pakistan. It's a really beautiful country with very few tourists. U should pay a visit to that place in the future.
Thanks for your kind words.

ALEX-I think you can find a christian female that would marry you and be content just to have you perform oral sex on her every day.

Alex, don't listen to this Christian "friend"! It's BS, you don't have to stay single forever and you don't have to give up sex with your future wife. My ex-fiance (who had infected me) and I had a very satisfying relationship (sexually and otherwise) for more than four years. Unfortunately, I got H from him, but if he had married me, that would have been totally worth it because I loved him so much. Obviously, he didn't have the integrity and empathy that you do, so you have even a better chance of finding someone who will love you. This man, my ex, had herpes for years and never, I repeat NEVER had any trouble finding girlfriends. He found the woman he married only three weeks after we broke up! Don't worry Alex and don't do anything silly, ok? You WILL find love.

Alex, I married my husband (20 years ago!)knowing he had herpes. We had four children and an active sex life. I did catch it from him eventually, but I don't hold it against him. We did not stay together, but that was due to his alcoholism. It had absolutely nothing to do with herpes. Herpes was a very tiny part of our marriage, only coming into prominence when I had my primary outbreak at the time I was about to give birth and had to have a C-section.
Pakistan? You sound like a fascinating person. Don't worry, there is someone out there who will find you. Try to enjoy your life in the meantime.
