I can recall dealing with OCD for the last 10 years at least, although I hadn't seen a docotr regarding it until recently. I suppose I could ask her, but maybe someone with experience can answer this.

An obsession, actually, many obsessions of mine are concerning the future health and happiness of my children. I don't have any yet, but when I do, as any parent, I'll hope for the best.
So it's a big pain when any time I think of it, I get overwhelmed and am stuck with my "phrases" or "rituals."

It's something I've learned to live with, but the question I have is this...Has anyone had an obsession of something they plan on happening in the future, and if so, once it comes to fruition, does the obsession go away since it is no longer valid? (in your case of course, I know things can always be different.)

I imagine it could stay around because my obsessions are always irrational anyway. So, any thoughts?
