I hope we've all seen The Aviator, if not do yourself a favor, besides the OCD related material, it's a great movie in my opinion.
Anyway, he gets stuck on certain phrases at times, like in the end when he continues to say, "The way of the future." over and over.
It surprised me watching it, because that's happened to me and it's the most annoying thing ever.
In my case, I can say anything, BUT if I have a negative thought during that phrase, I'll start saying it again and again until I can neutralize it and make myself feel better. It can drive me crazy.
Has this happened to anyone else?
And I'm talking about any time here, I have my specific phrases that I use to neutralize a negative image all the time, but in this case, it can be triggered by anything.

Hey,
I abosolutely LOVE howard huges, not only cos he loves planes like i do but we both suffer OCD. He says things over and over and sometimes I do the same thing. I have seen the Aviator and it is a good movie. People with OCD can relate to him and know how it must have been for him when he was alive.

Yes I totally understand. Most everything I do is doing and re-doing, including talking, to get rid of the "bad thought"....

"Show me all the blueprints, show me all the blueprints, show me all the blueprints, show me all the blueprints"
Remember how he says that phrase over and over? I used to repeat certain phrases in my head, but not out loud like he did. I love that movie. It totally captured the essence of certain OCD behaviors.
