As we all know, after our diagnosis the first thing is mentioned is you will have this FOREVER. For a few years I was a STRONG believer and felt there was no turning back until recently. I am beginning to question if one would literally shed the virus for a lifetime, ex. 60 years. Or the possibility of the virus becoming inactive. Any thoughts?

Hi,
I'm not to sure about genital HSV but, I have had oral hsv since 4 years old I remeber having outbreaks a few times a year and it has been decreasing ever since my last oral out break was approx 3 years ago so there may be some truth to the decrease but everyone is different.

I’ve written about this a few times, and I believe that we can cure ourselves. It was never proven that there is no cure, because it’s impossible to detect the virus in its latent stage. There are only 2 ways to detect the virus, with a swab from an active sore or shedding area, and a blood test. For people who are asymptomatic, a blood test will show the presence of antibodies, which would remain even if the virus was gone. So, it’s impossible to tell if an asymptomatic person actually has the virus. They just tell you you’re positive and write you a pricey subscription.
They say up to 90% of people with herpes are asymptomatic, why is it impossible that some of these folks are cured? I think it’s very probable! Granted, it may be extremely rare that someone has an immune system powerful enough to eliminate the virus. But, that’s only because of the unhealthy lifestyle we lead in the west. Very few people will change their whole life to the degree needed to eliminate the virus, mainly because they don’t believe it will work. They just accept what the establishment says, even with so much evidence to suggest that it’s all lies.

Nonexist, I love your attitude about this! I too believe that the human body is capable of healing itself and I refuse to accept this as a lifelong condition.
I have a question about your use of H2O2. I remember you said you started with 3 drops 3 times a day and increased by one drop until you reached 25, correct? And what did you do next? For how long did you keep taking the 25 drops three times a day? How did you stop, did you gradually decrease the dosage or did you just stop at the high dosage? I am thinking about doing this as a last resort. there are some positive testimonials on the oxytherapy website, though I wish they could be verified (did you read about the guy who tested negative for H after receiving 38 ozone injections? this would mean the antibodies do not necessarily remain forever!). Thanks and keep up the great attitude!

Hi Sophia,
In retrospect I think that 25 drops was too much for me. Right around the 15 drop mark, I started to get a case of diarrhea 1 to 2 hours after every dose. At first I thought it was a healing reaction, but it persisted. The weird thing is, I STILL felt absolutely amazing and cautiously continued with the full program. I stayed at 25 drops for 2 weeks, and then gradually decreased by 1 or 2 drops per dose each day over the next few weeks and then quit when I was down to about 10 drops. I read that you shouldn’t eliminate it all at once because your body will have a hard time re-adjusting.
I tried this because with so many differing opinions, there’s no way to know for sure if this is really bad or really good for us. I didn’t know whom to believe, so I had to try it for myself. I’m so glad I did, it made me a believer in oxygenation; and I don’t give a damn who says it doesn’t work or how many PhDs they have or how much research they did – I FELT it. It was this that also made me wonder why the whole medical industry is so dead set against oxygenation as a whole, and I researched this as well. This led me, politically, from common left wing thinking to the radical, anarchist views I have today.
As for the testimonials, I never take them too seriously, although I don’t ignore them either. I always thought antibodies stayed forever – which would be great for herpes, we might be immune to it if we cured it! I tried, but couldn’t find out if the antibodies for herpes are permanent.

Thanks Nonexist! I personally like your radical anarchist spirit http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif To me, it makes sense that oxygenation works, though I am certainly not an expert in the medical field. As for antibodies, did you ever get tested again after completing your H2O2 regimen? I am very curious what the test would show. Do you know which type you have? I don't know which type I have and whatever type it is, it's extremely mild but has been frequent so far, which really annoys me. I am going away for a couple of weeks but after I come back, I am going to give the oxygenation a serious thought. So you're still ob-free, huh? Amazing! By the way, I went to Nova Scotia a few years ago and thought it was beautiful (I'm in NY). Take care for now!

Hi Sophia! I had a quick question for you. I have been reading your post and was wondering did you fiance tell you he had herpes or did he let you find out on your own. You seem a little bitter about it. If he told you and you stayed with him and then he left...don't beat yourself up over it. You made that choice out of love and that's ok. I am sure he is making his wife miserable right now. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif It never fails..be glad its not you.
Next for the oxygenation. I personally contacted one of the people that gave a testimonal...and well he said that he had the auto..whatever the blood thing done and it didn't work but he said the doctors were not really trained to do it. He was having it done again and told me he would follow up and let me know how it went..this time by highly skilled doctors..he also told me he knew people that it had worked for 100% although it didn't work for him the first time..so I think he was being honest about it and he was a real person. He was concerned when he emailed me cause he used his real email address and accidently sent his full name. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I told him it was ok.
Next I did the oral liquid oxygen and DMSO treatment. Let's just say I got a full refund last week. It didn't do sh*t for me! So good luck with that. Now I take Lysine, OLE, and echinacea. I don't get obs but instead I get this weird feeling in my nerves...not even the tingling..more like a I don't know..its annoying though..constant reminder of the a$$hole I use to date!!!!!

Hey Notsobad! Well, my ex-fiance told me only after a few months of dating and numerous times of sleeping together, including unprotected. He told me only when he got an ob and couldn't make love to me. In fairness to him, he didn't know it was possible to transmit it in-between OBs. He also told me nobody ever had a problem with him having it and that nobody ever got infected, which might not be true, considering that I never found out until recently. I go back and forth between being bitter and admitting that at least I got a decent relationship for a few years out of it. What makes me most pissed off is that I was only 22 and completely naive and thought he was the man I would spend my life with, and he was 36 and experienced but would put me at risk even though he had no intention of being with me forever. And now he gets to be married and she is fully supporting him financially while he's back in grad school, while I am alone and miserable. I don't even know why I am so pissed off. I feel like I have wasted my youth on him and am afraid that even if I happen to meet a nice guy soon, he'll be scared of the h and run away. But I know what you went through was even worse. I can't believe your fiance left you for no reason, knowing what the other guy has done to you. I am very sorry this happened to you. You sound like a great girl who deserves a truly wonderful man.
As for the liquid oxygen and DMSO, you're right--they're crap. I wish I had saved my receipts to get a refund, but I haven't. Do you know where the guy you corresponded with had the autohemotherapy done? I found an address on the oxygenation website for a clinic in New York (healing center or something like that), I wonder if they have legitimate doctors. Thanks for all the info!

Sophia...now that's really f*ked up! Men like your ex-fiance and the jacka$$ I dated really make me sick. They are selfish and the only person that they love are themselves. I know my ex-boyfriend use to sleep around alot. We even talked about STDs before we hooked up and he said he was clean. I suggested we both get tested and he said I was trying to start trouble or some bs..I forget what he said. HE KNEW THE WHOLE TIME. Not only was he hiding it from me he actually wanted me to know I had it even if it was dormant. Once he called me and asked if I had cheated on him...and I NEVER had. When I asked why he complained that his urine burned he was basically trying to get me to go to the doctor and get tested for something so that I could know. He even seemed releived after he finally infected me and I found out about it....like he was happy or something..he is really sick.
He used that same stupid line..that he never infected any other woman..no he said no other woman had complained about it. I can only imagine how many confused women are sitting around today trying to figure out how and when they contracted herpes all because of him. Sad, sad, sad....I didn't get any good memories out of him..I swear to GOD if I had only known that man had herpes the way he behaved..I would have left shoe tracks all over the place.
As for my fiance...I ain't mad at him...I wanted to give him the choice to decide and he did...what can you do. If I had to do it again I would..because I did love him so much. I guess for some people accepting it is not so easy and for them its easier to walk away. He may have had some other motives too..you never know...who cares life goes on..I try not to be bitter about any of it...EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

Hi Sophia! Too bad we didn't know each other when you came to NS, we could have exchanged relationship horror stories over coffee, LOL! Anyway, I was only visually diagnosed by a doctor, he just confirmed what I already knew. I don't believe that I am "cured" yet. I don't get OBs, but I still get what MAY be prodrome symptoms, but they're too mild to know for sure. I think it takes years of discipline to get rid of the virus, if it really is possible like I believe. But, I'm no medical expert, either.
Hey notsobad, I also contacted someone who received autohemotherapy and it helped but did not "cure" her. She only showed up to half of her appointments because she had a hard time fitting it in between work and being a single mom. It's important to remember that there is no established protocol for administering H2O2 or ozone. It's all trial and error as far as how much and how often. Doctors with more experience with it have a better idea, and over time it will get better and better. I would love to try it but it's not available here.

Thanks for the responses. I hope more research is done in the future to answer these sorts of questions. The word and phrases, "forever" and "there is no cure for gential herpes" should be revised to something more sensible. If HIV can be beaten, I have to believe HSV can be handled too.
