Hi
I had LEEP surgery done about 1 week ago, and everything seems to be ok. I've been reading up on HPV yet I can't seem to find the answers that I want. Firstly, can you get HPV from sperm or do you get it from bodily fluids? Secondly, if I have unprotected sex with my boyfriend before I am fully healed what can happen? Thirdly, How long after LEEP can I have a baby and does it affect my chances of having a baby and will my baby have any girth defects as a result of HPV or LEEP?
Really hope someone can help with these questions.
Thanks much

I'll try to answer as best as I know:
HPV is spread from any sort of contact, so you can get it even if you don't have sex (and even if you use a condom.)
If you have sex with your boyfriend before the doctor says it's ok, I think the main consequence would be that your body would take even longer to heal (and it would probably hurt if you've just had the LEEP done.)
I would ask your doctor about how long to wait before you have children, and I don't think it would result in birth defects though. Personally, I'd want to wait until I had a clear pap before getting pregnant because if it were to develop into something serious while you were pregnant, your treatment options would be limited.
I hope that helps, but I would really ask these questions to your doctor too.
