Hi all. I have had an array of health problems the past two yrs. I am wondering now if I have M/S or maybe Fibro. Here is what is going on:
Was diagnosed with GERD last yr. I have been having back pain that spreads down my butt, feels like it is in my bones or nerves. Weird pains in my legs that come and go quickly, like a stabbing pain to my bones/nerves. Same pains in my feet. This past Friday the bones in my left ankle hurt so much I could not walk, felt like I had twisted it, woke up in the am the pain was gone.
I have been tired, and have gotten some dizzy spells over the past months. I sometimes feel like my blood is vibrating. Finally, my right foot is tingley, it comes and goes, but almost feels like how it does when your foot is asleep and is almost done "waking up".
I have been going through a ton of stress (dad just diagnosed with terminal cancer) so who knows it could be that. However, some of these symptoms I have had before his diagnosis.
Oh one more thing, I had an MRI about 1.5 yrs ago for electric like head pains I was getting (also known as ice pick) would the MRI have shown MS? I just want to know what is wrong with me!

Hi, k2626. It sounds like it might be a good idea to visit with a neurologist. MS or not, other than stress, if there is a medical basis to what you're experiencing, it sounds like it might be neurological. Your sx don't absolutely wreak of MS to me but this is a very individualized disease and it can present differently from one person to the next so it's impossible to say for sure. It would be good to get an MRI --a lot can change in a year and a half and just FYI, in terms of MS, it can sometimes take a very long time for something to show up.

Thanks so much for your feedback. These pains are just so odd, its like little lightening bolts to my bones, then the tingling foot and dizzy spells started getting my mind going. Actually, think it was a CT scan I had not an MRI. I just want to know what is wrong with me. It may be stress causing these pains, who knows, but I want to focus on my dad, not my illness.

Hey there k2. Sorry to hear about your Father.
CT will not show MS. MRI can show signs characteristic of MS. Sometimes MRI is also done with contrast to better highlight areas (especially in looking for active lesions).
MRI is part of the DX process for MS.

You most probably should get an MRI.
You symptoms resemble those that sometimes come with MS.
Imagine: an MRI can be negative when someone actually has MS, a CT scan is even less acurate than an MRI. So a CT scan never rules out MS.
You probably got a CT scan when you tingled because the docs wanted to see whether you were having an ACV.
