Hello everyone,
I went to the Otolaryngologist about 5-6 weeks ago after having to constantly clear my throat for over 8 months, after having some kind of respiratory infection. He did a nasal endoscopy and concluded that whatever infection I had caused the valves to weaken and cause Acid Reflux. (He also noted that I had very large tonsils, and had previously broken my nose :) ) Anyways, he put me on prilosec and gave me the typical diet, and sent me on my way. I go for my checkup with him tomorrow and just had some questions. I know it'll take time to work, and I think I have been improving (atleast this past week anyways), but not really 100% convinced yet. I've really follow the diets, took the medicine, raised the head of my bed... yet I still feel like I have good days and bad days.
I'm not quite sure if the Nasal Endoscopy just showed my sinuses and nasal cavities, or if he was able to actually see into the esophagus? Should he have gone through the throat? And not that money is really a concern when it comes to health, but that procedure ended up being a little costly, and if we ruled out nasal issues, I dont know if I want to have it done again. I had figured he was able to see some damage to the esophagus that led him to assume it was GERD, but now I'm not so sure. Any suggestions or comments would be very much appreciated!!!! Thanks
