Had sex eight years ago with one guy. Pap tests have been clean. Last year my husband had an affair in late spring. I had a pap test in Dec and results were HPV. I had surgury to remove infected cells and now ok.
My assumption is that I got this from my husband. What is the average length of time from introduction of HPV to actual evidence in pap smear.

It's hard to calculate an "average time" because men typically don't have any symptoms and can't be tested, so it's hard to know WHO gave it to you, much less when. Most likely you did get it from your husband, but there is a possibility you've had it all along and you're only now showing symptoms.
The important thing is that you caught it and got treated, but I totally understand the desire to know where this came from and maybe even to blame someone.
