one more question..i was told i had hpv, but they didn't tell me what strain...just to come back in a yr for my next pap and see how everything looks..so does that mean i have the cancerous strain n not the warts one?

If it presented as an abnormal pap, I would guess it was high-risk (the type that can cause cancer), but you should call your doctor and ask. However, most of the time if you're keeping up with your tests it's caught long before it would actually turn into cancer.
Also, you might want to ask your doctor why you weren't asked to come in for a colposcopy. My last pap was only slightly irregular, and I had one done. That test would give you a LOT more information about what's going on.
