Oopps..that is supposed to read "SON WAKES FROM NAPS CRYING..."

I personally do not think my son naps long enough b/c every time he wakes, he is crying and miserable. In the few times he has slept 2-3 hours, he wakes up happy, cheerful, and talkative.

Anyone have children who wake like this, and do you agree they are not sleeping long enough? My son is 19 months and I am done trying to get him to nap longer. I have no idea why he won't. He averages an hour to an hour and a half nap each day.

Hi Keltokel!

Sometimes my daughter wakes up like this. She is almost 2 1/2, but I think I remember when she was around you'r son's age she woke up grumpy quite a bit...and that was with a 2-3 hr. nap!

Have you tried making his bedtime earlier, or possibly just adjusting to the day?

I try to keep DD on a schedule, however some days when we're out a long time running errands, it's just not possible for her to get her nap ontime, so if she misses her nap I just put her to bed a couple hrs. earlier.

My son does have a rather early bedtime - normally 7:30 p.m. On the days where he doesn't nap well, it is earlier. I hear all about toddlers sleeping 2-3 hours, but my guy rarely sleeps this long. It is a shame b/c I feel he needs it.
