I was diagnosed pre-diabetic initially with a 101 fasting reading. Since then I've changed my food selections and for a couple of months almost never go over 25-30 carbs per meal. Although only 95 pounds and no weight to lose I am exercising more. My last fasting reading was 84.

I have done random monitoring at home with glucometer and if I eat over 30 carbs I've found my 2 hour post is in the 125-150 range. I thought that might mean I was insulin resistant so asked a new doctor about it. Asked him about doing a GTT. He said I'd get a better dx with a fasting glucose/insulin ratio test which he did.

I have not seen the actual numbers yet but he did tell me it was normal.

Thoughts?

I am 49 BTW.

More: Just got the results of the insulin fasting. It was 2.0

The range only says <25.0 is normal. I read somewhere else (online somewhere) the range is 5.0-25.0. Is that true? Am I too low on my insulin fasting then?

My doctor said "normal" but he generally works with polycystic patients and would see resistent results rather than low.

Anyone? How about a T1 or LADA person?
