I have a small hiatel hernia. Also slight reflux. Swollen esophogus at times and tightness between the shoulder blades.

I carry my stress in the stomache area. I also have axiety from some of my symptoms.

I am considering taking celexa to take the edge off my anxiety (10mg). I am very hesitant to do this b/c I hate taking drugs for anything.

BUT, if it could help I will consider it.

Anybody out there who can help?

I can relate because I have the same thing. My doctor did prescribe me Celexa a couple of months ago. I think mine was 20 mg. I took 1 pill and for me it was horrific. The side effects just on the first day drove me crazy. I felt spacey and weird and my heart was racing. It made my anxiety worse and I am afraid of pills anyway. For me it was a bad idea. But it may not be for you. You have to decide wether or not you want to give it a try. It could help. Good luck!

Any one else have any experiences with Celexa or other Antidepressants? I was thinking about starting on Celexa as well, but I was worried it might make my acid reflux worse since pills don't seem to go down well. Anyone here taking an Antidepressant an a PPI? How have your experiences been? What time in the day do you take each pill?
