hi all, just wondering if any one on rebif has low white blood cell count? im on rebif since november and my white count is low 3.1 and my liver enzymes are elevated, "i could scream" :)
altho the doctors say safe level is 2.5 and shouldnt go lower, mine seems to go down a . point or two with every blood work. i had such a sinus infection lasting 2 wks it was the worst sinus infection of my life, took antibiotics for 10days was good for 5 days and now its back!!!!!
i could only blame the low white count for this!
i was on avonex for over a year and developed new lesions so i switched to rebif, my follow up mri is this wk, and can not wait to see if i got any more.
back to rebif, im very miserable on this medication, every shot is like a bee sting, i try all of the remedies, but it doesnt work,
i see my neuro in 2 wks.
any similar experience would be helpful as im to the point of i dont want to take anything, i hate taking one thing in return affects another....... ahhhhhhhh
thanks in advance,
tammy

Hi there. No, I have not experienced either liver issues OR low white count..but this can be a side effect of all interferons...I would defintaely continue to get blood work done every month and see if things change- if it doesnt, you might need to go off Rebif altogether..talk to your Neuro first of course....sometimes, Low white counts, RIGHT themselves after being on the interferon for some time, but liver is not something you want to let go without keeping a very close eye on..
good luck.

Hi I think you have these issues with all interferons, I am on Betaferon and have had liver issues and low white blood cell count a couple of times they just order more bloods and keep an eye on me and so far it has turned out ok.:)

hi, thanks for the replys,
my thought is it is fine to watch, but what is it doing to u'r body in the mean time?
i dont want me counts to drop low and develop something else i.e lymphoma, which is a rare side of interferons.
well i guess its all a guessing waiting game with ms....... :(
thanks
