Sallie,

To be honest, I have no idea what my blood tests show. MS is dx by MRI and lumbar puncture (as well as history and clinical exam), and it does not rely on blood results at all, except to exclude other diseases.

What do the "lupus" people you've talked to say about your test results?

Sallie,

Request copies of all your results and go see someone else...

sed rate-77 should be 20 or less ( this is a test on your red blood cells to see if there is inflammation. Since yours seems to be high, it means there is inflammation.)

crp-2.88 should be .1 or less (this test can be used to also check for inflammation in diseases like lupus...I think it can be used to see if you are at risk of cardiovascular disease too...from your result I think yo uare at an intermediate risk)

sm antibody 7.6 positive should be <o neg. ( since your result was positive I believe it means you are sensitive to lupus )

lupus anticoagulant- positive ( these are usually found in those that have an autoimmune disease...people with these antibodies have a high risk of blood clotting)

Hexagonal Phase- positive ( a test to confirm the lupus anticoagulant test)

ana pattern speckled-180,positive (from what I understand, since you have a 1:80 result, that menas this test is insignificant for you and other tests should be relied on.)

Ptt-La- positive (aother lupus anticoagulant test)
Platelets-446 thousand. ( this result shows that your platelets are within the normal range. Although they are on the high end, the result is still normal. )

This is just my understanding of the test results. I might be wrong on some of them so please do not take this over your doctors advice. You should always listen to them. Also, I am, sorry to hear things have no been going well for you. I will keep you in my prayers.
