View Full Version : Pain Between Left Buttock and Vagina

Please someone help me!

For two months, I have been experiencing pain (burning, tingling, pins and needles) in the area between the opening of my vagina and my left butt cheek - it is virtually in the crease where my thigh meets my buttocks.

I have been screened for STDs, particularly Herpes (viral culture) because among other things the pain seemed to come with menstrual cycles, but all of my tests were negative. Now the pain is fairly constant. I have gone to the chiropractor, and he did not detect anything that would cause him to think it was a disc issue.

Just today, I isolated a spot in this area and touched it and almost screamed. I immediately felt pain radiate through my genitals and and my left butt cheek.

I am going to the gyno next month, but I am going out of my mind with this pain.

I've tried pain relievers, topical treatments, antihistamines and nothing gives me any relief.

Sitting for long periods of time absolutely makes me feel worse - but otherwise, I am extremely active - running and lifting weights 4 or 5 times a week.

Can anyone relate at all?

Thank you!

I can definitely relate. I have gone to numerous doctors and they all tell me it isnt herpes. So I took it upon myself to look up the symptoms online. The only thing I came up with is Candida Albicans (yeast overgrowth). I hope this helps.

I had something that seemed really similar to you, it was a bartholemuez (have no idea if I spelt it right) abcess...... it sounds exactly the same...... I ended us having surgery to remove it and have had no pain since (the op only took 20 minutes and only hurt for a few hours after..)

Did you have a blood test for herpes or a swab?

When I had a swab done it came back negative, however, my blood test was positive. Swabs are not very accurate unless you have them done within 48 hours of an outbreak.

Also....do you actually have any sores or lesions in the area or is it just pain?

Herpes can cause nerve damage in some cases...and that can cause the burning, raw skin, tender spots, and/or tingling.

You should get a blood test to see if you have Herpes...try the Western Blot or HerpeSelect Type-Specific IgG. A lot of times the viral culture will turn up a false negative. Good luck.
