View Full Version : IBS? Internal Hemmroids? Something else?

I think I have fibromyalgia but won't know until Oct 1st as that is when I see a neurologist but I have a lot of the symptoms. IBS is common with fibromyalgia.

When I first started having problems with my bowels, I alternated from being constipated, to diarrhea, to Narrow Stools (Ribbon Like Stools), lots of gas and bloating and a feeling that my bowels were not emptying completely. All this lasted for about 3-4 months.

Then one night in the middle of the night about 3 months ago I woke up to a very sharp pain in the right middle side of my stomach. It was a short pain and felt about the size of a quarter but was enough to wake me up out of a dead sleep saying SOB!

The days following that sharp pain, my bowels seemed to go back to half way normal with just occasional bloating and feelings of being constipated.

Well, now I am worried again because since Thursday my stomach has been hurting and I feel a little nauseated and am running a low grade fever. I am bloated and can't eat much because I feel full because of the bloating I guess but I also feel hungry at the same time. My bowels seem to be moving normally, no hard constipation and I do feel like I am emptying my bowels okay.

It could be just a virus since there is a low grade fever.. I don't know... but this morning I noticed my bowels were a very light colored almost yellow and when I wiped there was bloody mucus on the TP. That was a bit scary.

I don't have insurance and I am about as broke as broke gets which is why I have to wait until Oct to see a specialist for the fibro because it is at a 'cheap' hospital. Now I am thinking I may need to see a different specialist for my bowels but I can't afford it.

Sorry for babbling on.... does this sound like just simple IBS or maybe something else... possibly internal hemmroids... I refuse to think the worse... cancer.. but it keeps popping in my mind anyway.

Just looking for opinions... if it keeps up I know I am going to have to see a doctor and I know that is what you will tell me but..... I am just wondering if anybody else has experienced these symptoms with anything they know they have.

Thanks all!!

Do you journal on how you feel after eating certain foods? Besides the bloody stool, it sounds a lot like gallbladder. When I had gallbladder problems I would get severe nausea, almost to the point of vomiting and would get pains on my right side. I also would have the unusual colored and consistency of the stools. Either way, it would be worth it to find a way to get to the doctor.

No, I haven't kept a journal but I probably should start doing that.... not just for my bowel problems but for my other fibro symptoms as well. There have been a lot of weird things going on with my body over the past year.

The nausea is not really severe to where I feel like I need to puke... it is just an uneasy feeling. And the only time I had the pain on my right side was that one time. I do get pains here and there in my stomach from time to time... some cramping and some sharp pains but I don't think they are in the same place twice.

I also forgot to mention that my lower stomach also feels crampy like menstral cramps but since my hystorectomy I don't have periods anymore.

I think I will give it a few days and see if it clears up and if it don't I will go see the doctor and hopefully they won't want to run test that cost and arm and a leg. I am also going to read up on gallbladder problems and see if I can relate... thanks for the tip!

Had a small bowel movement this morning and no blood so it must have been a one time thing. I am a bit relieved now. :)
