im so sorry to hear that your little girl has caught this. My son contacted this at three weeks old, he was also diagnosed with golden staph. I know this is late but it does take six weeks of iv antibiotics and it is scary. all depending which bones was infected will be the difference in our cases. My son was infected in his right hip, which got filled with fluid and dislocated his hip joint. He was in plaster for 6 weeks and then was put in a brace for 3 months. His hip is slowly getting better and he is nearly two now, its a life long problem but they do get there. If u need to ask any more questions dont hesitate.

dinger73, i know this is a tad late as ive just read the date but im sure your daughter is still very young. id just like to say that when i was 5 years of age i was diagnosed with this horrific disease. i had it in my elbow and i had it bad, there was fear of amputation because the disease spread so rapidly. however, 13 years later and im leading a brilliant life. not only that, im healthy and ive represented my country playing rugby. im sure your daughter will grow up and lead a life you'll be proud of. good luck, god bless
