Hey everyone....
For most of you who know me, you know my doc has had a death in his immediated family, and I will not be able to contact him, let me try to put this out for all of you as best I can.
When I went last month my doc gave me Two post dated scripts for my LA and SA hydro. I called him 3 days ago and told him that he had dated them all for the 5th of the month with for the next two months, and that doesnt gove me the week for the mail, compounding, ect. I even offered to send the original scripts back to him and have him send me others... He told me to have the pharmacy call him, and he will make sure they fill it and have it to me by the day before i am to run out.
Keep in mind that this amount of meds he gave me isnt even touching what I need, but I have to choice, because they are running out and I need SOME sort of refills. I have no idea what I am even getting Monday that he sent to bump up the adjustment I needed.
I called the chain who has been doing my compounding and they said NO. We only fill on the date on the script.
The other pharmacist who i didnt want to go back to I called, said "I know its illegal, but a couple of days, isnt a big deal. Ill do it." I also need to have my meds in my hand by the 1st of July at the LATEST. I dont trust them at all. [the pharmacist] thats the one who tried to throw me under the bus, and said "oh he said he was going to wean you off., we couldnt find anything to work for you." yeah right.
The 4th is on a friday. My script is dated the 5th, i believe. Add in my traveling and the holiday, I need my meds by the 1st at the LATEST. Add in we have NO saturday delivery of fed ex or UPS, and if they dont get here Im screwed.
And now with all of this drama, i feel like Im going to get leftin the lurch with no meds and the weekend without. and thats ONLY only if they can get ahold of him in the midst of all of this.
Has ANYone ever heard of a pharmacy filling a Sched II drug BEFORE the date on the script? My doc says they will do it IF they call him and talk to him.
Any advice is appreciated, as always. Im so ready for normalcy. I am at the end of my rope. I know, I need to find another doc or figure something out, but I am absolutely just getting by the skin of my toenails...
I do have 3 referals from golf friend for a surgeons to interview. When I told my doc Friday morning I wanted to wait until The fall, he told me I needed to get busy and start interviewing. I know I biding time.

Hey Izzy the hydro is S-III so they should not have any problems at all - and no I have never heard of anyone dispensing a S-II early - all S-II are supposed to be dispensed exactly as written and if there is a mistake they can not verbal or fax instructions to change anything -
This is the kind of junk I hate, I can go get every other medicine early but when it comes to drugs for my cp it is all suspicion and

Aver....The Hydro is the same as Oxycontin. Once you take out ANY filler, binders, ect. it gets moved up. It is a sched II, ive been filling this same script for almost a year now. Im really angry that my doc is putting me in the position with a friggin chain pharmacy, They are NOT going to do ANYthing illegal. Mark my words.

Wow learn something new everday - sorry, I know we all have to go through circles when it comes to vacation and everyone wants to be the pharmacy police expecially the pharm techs here - Good Luck - hope it gets resolved -

My earlier post was about my same old soap box of getting recognition that chronic pain is very real, very debilitating, and not treated with the same goals as other illness - no one worries that I will be on heart medicine, diabetes medicine for the rest of my life (Just the same as addiction) AND when I go on vacation I need all of these - sometimes I will need extra diabetes medicine and pain medicine due to different activity level - one is no problem and the other OMG - the pharmacy flips out everytime

Can you fax a copy of the script to the compounding pharmacy, so that they can make the stuff up, and have it ready to go at one minute past midnight?
Or, I am presuming your doc has arranged someone to cover for him while he is away, can that doc write you a script with the correct date etc
Or, as hydrocodone/apap is a Schedual 2 drug, your doc could phone in a script to a local pharmacy for some 10/660mg tabs (you usualy take 10mg hydro I seem to recall)
I am sure that your doc can be contacted by telephone, and could call in a script in a few minutes
Or, I am presuming your doc has arranged someone to cover for him while he is away, can that doc write you a script with the correct date etc

My doc allow me extra pain medicine when I travel but my pharmacy goes crazy - they are sure I am selling drugs up and down the Sunshine highway - after 2 years at this pharmacy they still call my doc everytime to verify even though they know he does it all the time - then they call my insurance company ugh! hugs aver

My compound hydro is LA 20 anf SA 10...Neither has ANYthing in it. Thats wh its compounded. that makes it a sched II snd it canot be called in.

I have been living undermedicated for weeks and I need to find some way to get off of this crazy train. Im NOT asking for my meds to be filled early becaue I will be short but I have the most important golf tourney of my life this next weekend, and even if I didnt? I still need my pain needs to be taken care of. That even makes it harder for me. Just day to day living Im sucking air. and think about having to make a living? Many ppl go to work day to day at the office, ect, but the golf course is MY living, and this is a huge living for me.

I'm so sorry you are getting the short end of the stick...again!
I would call first thing tomorrow...the hot line you were given...and explain the post dating mess you are in. The doc who is covering for your doc should be able to rewrite your prescription giving you the week to get everything in the mail. This is the logical, common sense scenario but in the world of cp things don't always go that way! Good luck and don't take 'no' for an answer!

oh gosh Izzy more drama and problems. It is REALLY time to find a new Doc this is just crazy and causing you to much anxiety. I feel so bad for you, and good luck at your tourney. I wonder if I will see you on TV. I always look for you. :) I hope this all works out, I could not live this way with all of the PM issues you have to put up with the never knowing when your RX are coming and being under medicated and in pain with worry is no way to live.. and its just Hydro. UNBELIEVABLE!!! not again...........oh vey I will pray it gets to you on time. I have never heard of a pharmacy filling early from what the RX is dated.

I called the chain pharmacy manager this morning and spoke to the compound manager who does my scripts. her words were.."There isnt much we can do at all changing a C2 script, but one thing we are allowed to change is the date." She took the docs number and the nurse, and told me to send it to her today and she will promise that i have it before I leave. I am so happy because I didnt wnt to go back to the other pharmacy. I told her about his situation and she said not to worry, that it will be taken care of.
I told her Id spoken to someone else the other day, and they told me the opposite. she stated that I mustyhave just talked to a tech or someone else. she told me she will put in her notes today about our conversation and will be waiting for my script, and all will be logged in case it would be a day she wasnt there. She said shes going to ask the doc or whoever if she can fill it that very day so she and I both know it gets done correctly.
Thats really nice, and that is exactly why I switched to this pharmacy.
I hope for now I dont need to stress.
Slip, I havent been playing well enough for you to see me on the leader board lately. Usually Im in the top, but the top can mean 30 women with you only seeing the top 8 all day long. Thanks for watching for me. They do gove us other ladies some time, but this weekend will mostly be all about whoever stays in the top 10.
Ill post later when I get the script the doc sent. I hope its something I can take.

Hi Izz, I am so glad there going to help you. its just a shame you have to go through this every few weeks and I would hate for you to be flagged or labeled a difficult pushy patient I just worry that the pharmacy will try and report you for making changes and trying to get your refills changed and filled earlier than the date there written for.EVEN THOUGH ITS A DR ERROR... I don't want that for you so I would love you to find a Dr that can and is willing to write your RX'S timely every month not every week like now, or every 2 weeks, so you don't have to badger the pharmacy's and make calls and sound desperate every time your refills are do, the way you travel so much makes it even harder as your on the move a lot and can't wait around for these fill dates etc. I know your totally ligitimate and a good patient but it seems there is always an issue with your refills and its not your fault. you have a DR that is 500 miles away and he is hard to reach and his staff sucks so its just a bad situation all the way around for you, really its getting to be a real PAIN each month. I really think if you found a good local PM Dr your life would be so much eaiser not to mention its there speciality and they no what would work for you since your so under medicated as it is. I NEVER HAD any issues with my refills when I saw a PM DR and it was something I could rely on every month on the same day ( until they shut down on me) but there now re opening, I want that for you to sweetie and I hate what you have to go through every time its time for your refills. Its just way to much work, stress and crap for hydro.... your Dr is not a PM DR and there for they are not comfortable prescibing and they don't know what is what for each kind of pain, look at my situation today. my Dr could not even figure out what to put me on in the interm so they really aren't as good as PM Dr is. and that is what you need in my eyes. I would start interviewing the 3 you have choses and get on the horn and stop tinkering around with your PCP who is to busy and to far away to be of any help, really the time has come for you to do the right thing and see a DR who is close by and knows more about managing your pain issues.
