I have been taking Benadryl at night to help me sleep for three months, I am wondering if it is okay to continue to take it nightly...the only thing I have used that helps me sleep and not feel groggy in the a.m. It is over the counter generic from CVS and is the lowest dosage.

From what I've read, Benadryl is perfectly safe to take as a sleep aid. (I only wished it worked for me!)

Many doctors recommend it for the elderly as it is supposedly non-habite forming. I have trouble in that (1) it doesn't work for me (2) it dries me out to much.

Be thankful that it does the trick for you!

Be careful with benadryl, it can cause restless legs to get worse.

Good luck
