Just got my numbers back today from the dr. They are:
TC: 230
Tri: 162
HDL: 52
LDL: 148
Do not have any of the ratio's or anything. Are these decent numbers or do I need to do something about this?
I am 32yrs and workout about 4-5 times a week. Just don't want to fall over and have a heart attack from cholesterol.

Thanks,
AJ

Well according to the new guidelines they would be considered high, but all in all, they aren't that bad.
To get your TC ratio's divide your TC by your HDL, which I see as about 4.4 It is suppose to be 4.0 for women. To get your trig. ratio divide your trigs. by your HDL,which I see as 3.1, normal is 5.0 All in all, I would say your doing ok. :)

Of course U have to take into consideration your family history of heart attacks at an early age, do U smoke, have diabetes, overweight or have high blood pressure? Hopefully you do exercise, that sure does help to keep numbers down and also many other benefits.
Good luck, and I wouldn't worry. JJ

P.S. Sorry, I forgot U said U work out 4 to 5 times a week, so forget my last comment. :)

Thanks JJ.

The only reason for concern was the cholesterol being over 200 and the LDL being over 100. I guess the HDL is good b/c it is over 40 and the Tri. is good b/c it is under 200. At least that is what I have read.

Have no history of heart disease in family. Both grandparents, one set passed away in there 80's and the other set is in there mid-80's and are still living. The one that is still living smoked from age 13 to 70. Then quit. (after triple by-pass). I smoke rarely. Maybe after a couple of drinks.

I guess I just get a little worked up b/c sometimes I get a little anxiety attacks.

Thanks,
AJ
