View Full Version : Fatigue, thirst 8 hours after meal. Loose stool?

 For the last 3 months I have been awaken in the middle of the night due to irregular bowel movements. What I have noticed is 8 hours after a meal, I will feel extreme fatigue, tiredness, thirst and the urge to urinate. I often feel coldness and numbness in my fingers as well.

I normally have a 12~14 hour bowl transit time. So I believe at the 8 hour mark the food is entering the colon from the small intestine. This happens after lunch, as well as dinner. Every morning, I will have bowl movement with loose stools. Sometimes the stools are thin strips, but more often I have small/medium/large stools, that's loose especially at the end.

I have been eating an almost non-fat diet, and I have lost almost 10% of my weight since those symptoms occurred (I am slightly overweight). I have just recently been able to stabilize my weight somewhat.

Could this be caused by stress or something else? What could have happened and what tests should I ask my gastroenterologist to perform? (We are currently having an extreme health crisis with GI docs in Las Vegas right now...)

Thanks in advance!
