i went to the dr last week for pre-op testing. i am scared and dissapointed. my 2nd toe does hurt especially when i wear sandals and it is still spread apart from my big toe. the 1st surgery for this toe was in feb. and the dr called it a dislocated toe. this new surgeon said i was misdianosed and the scrw that was put in is hitting my joint so it has to be removed anyway. he said he will fix the ligament, also. (my past post explains everything). anyway, my big toe is curling toward the 2nd toe and the dr said he cant do anything about it. it hurts when i wear shoes. so now he will hopefully fix my 2nd toe and i will be left with a possible pain in my big toe. he said he wants to be conservative and if it is still bothering me in the winter, he will take another look at it. i had hped it could have been taken care of, but i guess i am glad he is being conservative because he said i could wind up with a reaaly bad big toe if he performs surgery on it. i should listen to my own advice and say no surgery unless i am crawling and i am nowhere near that. i almost want to pull out of my 2nd toe surgery because i cant handle anymore failures. july 8 is the date for my fate.(i dont know where that came from). any thoughts from anyone would help. remember my left foot has big toe fusion and a 2nd toe hammertoe correction which left my toe sticking up a little bit from the floor. help
