I checked my account like I do every morning and nothing was there. I am so sick of waiting on this back-pay I could scream. They say we will have our first SSDI payment on or about the 3rd of July. That is wonderful and I am grateful-believe me! But, I desperatley want the back-pay,I owe family and friends money that we have borrowed to get throught the last 2 years. I'd just like to be able to give it back. I want us to be able to go foward with our lives, we have debts we need to pay with that back-pay and things that we need to buy for ourselves (like tires for my car would be nice!). I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening and good luck to everyone living this nightmare too!

Thanks for the encouragement auntduci37. It gives me hope to hear when things have worked out for other people! I will try to be strong and patient. But as the saying that my grandmother has had hanging in her house goes-"grant me patience Lord, but hurry!" Thanks for the info!;)

I hear you. I think we were approved about the same time. Still waiting here also. There is no lawyer to pay which make it quicker. If you had a lawyer you can call and se if he was paid yet, they pay him first. Then at least you know it will be soon if his payment was issued yours follows soon after.

Thanks lynn and jean!
Jean, my husband refuses to call the lawyer and see if he got paid yet. He says it makes him sick because in our case the lawyer did nothing (because we were approved BEFORE our hearing,at random) and is still getting paid, he is also afraid he would charge us for a call (I think that is ridiculous, but he is very firm about it). We were told in our last conversation with SSA that up to 30 days after the 1st payment (which is supposed to be July 3rd) we should see our backpay. let me know your progress and I will keep you updated on ours-good luck to you! I know what a journey this has been! -Rachel:angel:

Yea when I called the 800# they told me my lawyer was paid and when, and they told me how much my backpay was. I knew all of it before I got my awards letters.

Well we can cross our fingers. I know it sucks. I think that if you are approved and your payment is processed riht before the 3rd (check day) then you get all back pay and first payment. If you are approved and the payment center gets the calcualtions done after the third then you wait till next time around. I may be wrong, but i think that is what our wait is. Also in my case they didnt add the children until they did a 2nd interveiw. so we are waiting on that as well, but I am told that the childrens money dosent have to go through all the back log. The claiments backpay goes through a test to see if you owe IRS, Childsupport or the treasury first, then goes into payment status. The childrens money goes dirctly to payment status.
