I got a letter from MDA yesterday. It told about the upcoming vote in the house and senate to continue the MD-CARE Act of 2001. The bill will steer federal money to MDA research. MDA asked me to contact my representative and senators and ask them to please support the bill. Of course I'm going to to this.

I don't really like asking friends and family to support MDA. I feel it puts them on the spot. But this is something I can do. It's a great opportunity for us to be proactive in our own fate. I hope the rest of you affected in some way by MD will consider supporting it as well. Thanks.

Update: This weekend I received letters for both my congressman and one of my senators (Carl Levin) thanking me for writing. They both said "Yes" they are supporting this bill. This bill, in addition to providing research money to facilities looking for a cure, will also support an online database for MD patients to register and compare symptoms, treatments, and genetic history.

THIS WILL BE A HUGE HELP TOWARDS FINDING A CURE!
