Good question.
I don't know.
HPV is trasmitted by skin-to-skin contact, not the mucous/saliva. There are (generally speaking) two types of HPV: high risk and low risk. Low risk cause warts, high risk can lead to cancer (CAN, not "will") (cancer of the mouth, cervix, vulva, anus, penis, etc).
From what I've read (and I am in NO WAY an expert) it looks like it is possible, but I'm not sure how probably it is to transmit high OR low risk HPV via kissing only. That assumes a few things. If neither of you has ever had oral sex with someone who was positive for high or low risk HPV, then you are probably ok.
If either of you has ever had oral sex with someone who was positive for high or low risk HPV, then I'd say there is a chance.
Just as a word of information, condoms do not protect against HPV since it is the skin to skin contact that transmits the virus. The condom doesn't cover all skin during sex.
I hope that helps.\
Edited to add: most people don't know if they have been exposed to HPV.
