I had PPH surgery in early May, and since then, I've been wondering, how much of your anus is supposed to come out when you defecate? None of it? I can't remember what it was like before hemorrhoids. Does anyone know? I know my prolapse is greatly reduce, but I wonder if I still have some because some of my skin still comes out when having a BM(?)

I know I for sure have acquired at least one hemorrhoid since the surgery :( I can feel the little vein bump just inside my anus. I am not sure how this happened, but I suspect it was 4-5 days of 1+ BM a day as I was on a cruise, eating food I am not used to, varying from constipation to diarrhea. I am really disheartened :( I hope my doctor can do something about it. I'm feeling a bit defeated, just because even since I've had hemorrhoids they have been so aggravating and distracting. Also, my anus skin has a blue hue on a couple sides, which I'm assuming is a vein underneath. I just can't feel it. I hope I am not back where I started again....

I don't have any help for you sadly:confused: I actually have some questions??? I have suffered with hemmorhoids for years, for the past 8 or so having alot of blood with bms. My doctor said I am anemic now and figures it's from them. Went and had two banded so far, the second one yesterday. Now he says I have so many that the banding probably won't work and I should have surgery. I've read some horror stories and am now scared to death to have it done! Can you tell me a little bit about how your surgery went, how painful, recovery period, etc.? I would greatly appreciate any input from anyone who has had this surgery!
