Hi,

I think they run about 5,000 to 6,000 per tooth. My friend is having 3 done and it is costing her $18,000. However, she did need bone grafting and I suppose that costs more.

Shop around - some drs in the NJ/NY/CT tri-state area may charge $1500 for the implant and another $1500 for the crown but make sure you check out the dr since this is not something to be taken lightly. Also check with teaching dental schools or universities since they often provided these services for less and even though the dentist doing them will be a "student" most are usually paracticing dentists undergoing advanced training and they are nonetheless over seen by teaching professors. I have heard other countries do charge less for implants, but when I had them done, my dr wanted to see me once a month to check how they were integrating with the bone - so I am not sure how one would be able to do that - and what happens if there is a problem down the road? Good Luck.

Four years ago I paid about 3,000/implant which included bone-grafting and implant insertion by and oral surgeon and the final crown done by my own dentist. I also had to return frequently to the oral surgeon in the beginning to check on how the implants were "taking". Fortunately, both turned out just fine.

I had both inserted with a local anesthetic. It was not painful... just the "noise" in your head as it was being done. Post surgical pain was also minimal. I think I took Ibuprophen for two days.

Mine feel just like regular teeth. I'm very pleased with them.

Good luck with your decision.
