I applied for disibility the first of March. I have been to their psychologist and now they have me set up to see their doctor. How long after that appt, do I hear something? Allsup says I have a 50 50 chance the first time out.

If they dont cancell your apt for the doctor after seeing the psychologist then they didnt get a good report from the psych report, or at least not one in your favor that is disabiling enough to grant a favorable. So it will depend on the other doctor appt. they will make the determination on that report.

I applied for disability on line, the beginning of Dec.07

2 weeks later they called me. they needed more information on the phone regarding my history.

then I recieved a letter to see their Dr. In January 08.

there was a very bad snowstorm, but I made it anyway. I thought I was only supposed to see a general practioner, but it wound up being a psychiatrist.
He told me immediatly at the end of the interview that he deems me disabled.
But..... the pamplet they sent me in the mail before seeing the dr. explained that the doctor is NOT the ones to make the decision whether you qualify for disability or not and that SSA determines that.

I was waiting and waiting to hear from them after I saw the psychiatrist and finally I did, but the letter stated a date and time to see their doctor.
I called them and told them I had already seen their doctor.
They went on to explain that the 1st exam was just to have the psychiatric
exam and not for the general practioner. The person on the phone told me that the first time I went I was supposed to see BOTH of the doctors, but no one told me this when I was there.
I even ASKED the sectretary at the front desk if I was to do anything else before I left to go home and she said "NO".

I'll bet you any money that the other doctor wasn't even there that day because of the snow storm. So This went on to delay the process even further because they had to know if I was physically disabled too.
this took place in FEB 08.( 1 month after seeing the first doctor)

It was April that I was told over the phone that I was disabled and to go to the main office that day to meet with them so I could go over all the paper work, plus I was told to bring my partner with me because he had to be my payee being I was mentally disabled. They won't let me handle the money. He has to. So we have a joint account at the bank.

I then received my very first check in [B]May 08.

So it took approximately 4-6 weeks to get a reply after the 2nd exam.
