This morning I got up and check our account. I had a deposit in there, I could not understand why. Our backpay from SSI we got back April was for almost about 1/2 of this amount we got this morning,and we were under the assumtion that we would get what they owed us in 3 payments every 6 months. We are no longer to get SSI as our SSDI starts on the 3rd of July. I called thinking there must be an error and SSA said that it was SSI and that they had NOT paid our lawyer yet, so we would be getting our 1st SSDI payment on the 3rd, but they are still not sure about our backpay. I am so happy to have something,and it gives me something to help us out until we can finally pay everything off with our SSDI backpay. Just thought this was odd, and wanted to share. :jester: Congratulations to you,i know how you feel i was so happy when i got my first ssi backpayment.I got a letter telling me how much ssi backpay i was entitled to & i would get the rest in 2 more installments 6 mths apart.I donot unsterstand why you got another ssi backpayment so soon either.I called the 800# Friday checking on my ssdi & she said i would get a check on July 16 & they hadn't got through processing my back pay from ssdi yet.She stated something to the effect that they were trying to figure out my ssi backpay & my ssdi back pay.It is all so confusing to me,but i want to wish you best of luck always!!! Granny I think they deduct the ssi payments from the ssdi backpayment. They just give you the ssi first then deduct as you have a max allowable.
