i have had ocd all my life and i am in therapy right now. I have had those same thoughts as you, my Docter explained it to me, these things are horrible things going through your mind and because you know they are horrible our minds keep making us want to think these things because we know it is wrong to and our minds keep nagging us to think them. This is Ocd, of course you would never act them out but our minds are so weak and we let these thoughts in our head and cant get them out. My advice to us , stop thinking them by ignoring them. WE ALL GET BAD THOUGHTS IN OUR HEAD SOME PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO IGNORE THEM AND CONTROL THEM, WE have a harder time and we let our thoughts control us. GOOD LUCK

HI,
I have OCD and have been on Luvox for about 10-12 years. I too have the same thoughts. Currently, I don't have those thoughts often due to the Luvox ( I take 200mg) and due to going for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It has really helped me.
Actually, ignoring the thoughts is not really the right way to deal w/ your obsessions. You should be doing CBT (do you go for therapy)? CBT helps you lear to flood and desensitize yourself to the Obsession. For example, let's take your sexual obsession of your son. Let's say the OCD thought is "I was putting a diaper on my son and I touched his Private area by accident..uh oh what if that was on purpose...uh oh what if I molested him"....I have had those thoughts before w/ my nephews (as I do not have my own children yet)...well, CBT would say....ok in your mind, let's say that it is true....exaggerate the story....yeah you diapered him and you touched his private area on purpose, and after you did that it didn't even bother me...I just went on my merry way all day....ok, right there you start to realize how silly it sounds...and you start to see the truth...the evidence, you may even laugh at how silly that sounds.....
Then the next time you have the thought like that it is less anxiety provoking b/c you kind of already dealt w/ it....
You start to desensitize yourself. This should be done w/ a CBT...
does that make any sense?

Hi
It is such a relief to hear others going through the same thing. My intrusive thoughts started after a stressful year, of working with sexual abuse victims. I have two small children so I find the thoughts devestating. I also believe the cognitive behavioual therpy works, and also meditation and excersise. I am a big believer that we are not our thoughts and should not identify with them, especially the negitive ones. Two good saying that help me are' Worring pretends to be necassary" and "they are just thoughts not the truth"
Good luck to you all
