Hello,
I have been lurking here for quite some time.....not posting in this forum much because of the great info I found here and the answers to most of the questions I had already had been answered in a thread!!
I wanted to tell you *NEVER GIVE UP*........I applied for disabilty in August 2005 after an accident at work which caused me to blow 3 disks, a rotar cuff and suffer much pain (still much pain)........even after surgery!! (Accident on March 30, 2005.....Surgery May 9. 2006)
It was a Worker's Comp Case so went very slowly in getting treatment and is still not settled!!
BUT........I went before the ADJ for Social Security on March 18, 2008 and recieved a FULLY FAVORABLE decision yesterday (June 26) after a 3 year wait......
Good things do happen to good people.....I had much rather be able to work....but I can't and am so Thankful that the decision was good and finally came in!!
I came so close to giving up so many times, but knew I could not work....even house work is too much for me many days.....NO heavy work ever.......
I am so grateful for all the helpful info I got here by reading your post and your experiences.....the way everyone supports the others is fantastic!!
I just wanted to tell those of you still waiting ( I am still waiting on the money, of course) but NEVER give up!! Things move very slowly in this system but it does work for those of us that really have the pain and or mental problems and have GOOD records....YOU MUST have an attorney if you get to the ADJ stage.....without mine I don't think I could have done it because they know the laws and the ins and outs of being successful even when you are 100% totally honest as I am!!
Good Luck to all of you! Wishing you Pain FREE days ahead and postive decisions on everyone's part!! :)
Thank you for being the good honest people you are.....you have become my friends but never knew.....;)
I will still be lurking around and feel free to ask any question you might have about my experience......it was long and hard as most of you going through or who have been through it know!!
Once again, Thank You and God Bless....
My Prayers are with you,
Deb
