I am taking Atenolol 100mg, Lifezar 50 (losartan), and aspirin 75 for nearly a year now and have never missed a dose, but today what should not happened had happened. I am always taking my medicines at 6:00 in the morning, but today I took them at about 6:30 in the afternoon or more than 12 hours late. I started to suspect that I might have missed my dose when I felt some sort of headache, and it proved to be true when I count my medicines which are kept in the envelopes mark with the name of the months. I therefore immediately took the missing dose and my headache disappeared after about 30 minutes, and I am ok now, no headache whatsoever. My question is:- Is the headache the result of missing my dose or does it signifies something else?

That's difficult to tell. However, why not continue to take your meds on a regular basis and see if any headache recurs. Headaches can be caused by numerous things.

A suggestion: keep your daily meds in one of those plastic daily pill organizers. Sometimes they're actually complimentary in some pharmacies. If not, they're very inexpensive and can also be purchased in a dollar store.

Anyway, glad you're feeling better!

It happens to all of us. Because we lead such busy lives, it is easy to unintentionally skip a dose of meds. When I forget to take my mine, I am reminded by my body. I get chest pain AND develop a headache. The headache is from my blood pressure rising, the chest pain from not taking the CCB and/or the beta blocker. Your headache might or might not have been related to your bp meds. When people discontinue beta blockers (especially large doses and within a very brief period of time), withdrawal symptoms develop. The major one is a headache. Mine lasted almost six weeks last year. What I am trying to say is that it is possible to get a headache by not taking this medication as scheduled. Your body needs it. Unfortunately, we often become very dependent on our meds.
When you miss a dose of your medications, you should take it as soon as you remember. If the next scheduled time for taking your meds is less than eight hours away, take your meds at the regularly scheduled time, without trying to make up for the missed dose. As Edelweiss suggests, you could use a pill organizer.
