Hey,
The skin on my bottom lip has been peeling off for months now, every 2-3 days. I wake up and theress dead, disgusting skin all over them. It's horrible! If left alone, the skin will just pile up all over my lips and either get sticky if kept moist or harden into a scab (usually my entire bottom lip scabs over completely) if left dry. If I do pick the dead skin off, my lips bleed and get very painful and are very, very red.
I'm 15, male, don't smoke, have a good diet, and am overall pretty healthy... and this is causing all sorts of social problems for me. I'm horribly depressed over this, most of the time I don't feel like leaving the house.
Can someone please give me some advice? Any would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Well, obviously you need to see a doctor. At your age, and being in good health, there is NO reason this should be happening. You might have a vitamin deficiency caused by an underlying health issue that needs to be addressed.
But one question: Do you perhaps bite your lip in your sleep? The only reason I ask is because one of my kiddoes bit his lip into a bloody mess after he'd gone to the dentist and had his lower lip numbed for a filling. He went into his room to watch a video when we got home and two hours later: Ugh! Some people grind their teeth so badly when they sleep that they buy those teeth guards to wear at night...

I had a similar condition but it is much improved now. Try flaxseed oil. I think that's what helped me. I now believe my problem was a low level of essential fatty acids.
