I am probably being paranoid here but here it goes:
I have a 26 month old boy that spent the night at his grandmother's house this past weekend. My niece spent the night too to play with him. If she were to have head lice, would he for sure get it?
Reason I ask: 2 yrs ago when my son was just a couple of months old, I was given a sip n' see party and my sister had the nerve to wait for me to go to the bathroom and then ask our nurse cousin to check her daughters head for lice. My cousin later told me that there was so much new growth that she probably had them for 6 months! Keep in mind that my sister never told me there was a risk and let her daughter hold my baby...which I allowed only if she was seated...if I turned my back for a split second she would get up and walk around with him and my sister would do nothing. I even walked out of the bathroom to find that my niece was holding him while wearing a wet bathing suit! He was soaked when I took him back. My sister and her family are not the most tidy or sanitary people. Their house is a disaster and they think I am a nut because we are the opposite! I am a germaphobe and we live very differently. I have said things to my niece before like OMG...the bottom of your feet are black! Well, I was dubbed the family b****! Our relationship is very strained and he has only spent the night once before - at my mom's, never my sister's. My mom's house is not far off from my sister's house and my niece is always there. It is the same time of year as when she had them before a couple of yrs ago...don't know if that matters? I just know that my sister is a very lazy mom and prob wouldn't think about preventative maintenance. Okay, enough griping about my family...I could write a book!!!
