Emmy my nephew has tourette syndrome. He is in his 30's. Every once in awhile he will swing his arm toward his chest and he has a little head jerk.
You should get tested for it. There are medications for it, though I think sometimes it really over sedates them... but if you do have tourette, holding it in and suppressing the tics can make it worse. I work at a school. There are alot of kids with tourette. Some express it different ways. One girl just kept clearing her throat all the time, another acted like he was playing a piano. It was good for us to know they had tourette as her teachers were always yelling at them until they became aware of the situation. Many years ago, I thought my son had tourette too, but he didn't he was just stressed from undiagnosed learning disabilities. Every person I have ever known with tourette has a very high IQ. Being scared is worse and it won't change the fact you have tourette if indeed you do.
There is help and support out there
