Hi,
For about a year now I have had intermitent pain around the upper left rib area, and also in the armpit on the left. It is really tender and painful to touch. But it all looks fine. There is no redness or swelling or anything un-usual. Apart from my 'spare tyre' of fat that I have around there, but don't have on the other side. And yes, I'm pretty sure its just fat as I have put on weight recently.
So does anyone have any idea what is causing the tenderness? Should I go and see my Doctor? Previous and current conditions: Cancer of cervix (10 yrs ago) and now have Sjogrens.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions....
Thanks..
Jude

Hi Jude,
I am pretty new to all of this (recently diagnosed with Sjogrens) so I know nothing really, but I do have similar pain... off and on, and sometimes on the right as well, but always most painful on the left. I think it is that my lymph glands are swollen. I use warm compresses and do as many bouncy activities as possible (jogging mostly... as suggested by my doctor, or time on a mini trampoline). Lymphatic drainage massages seem to help as well. All of these apparently help the lymph glands to drain. Again, it may be different for you. I would love to hear what you come up with. Take care!
